Dear Dana, I like the position of both naivete and security in this woman, as a way that she's so exposed but she feels so sure at the same time.

May be the feeling of being in water, remember to confort in mother liquid: first home.

I'm also trying out some shots these days underwater. For me, what are the hardest to manage are high lights in water and reflections, more than anywhere else (maybe in snow?)

Just yesterday, I waited sitting on the shore, on the beach, watching the sun go down, go behind the horizon, waiting to avoid highlights ... I made some attempts. It's irresistible not to do anything underwater.

If we try to move something, for example, we have to be a "Mr muscle" it's horribly hard to do, above all if it's a light material.

And as you have presented, I also think the most beautiful photos underwater are nude. I like the pose of the model. Also, the choice of black and white.

Laura.  Thanks so much for the thoughtful observations.  Just for context; I am shooting from above (out of the water) and the model is submerged.  I agree that the feeling is exposed but confident or comfortable.  I think this describes the model very well.  I like the notion of her being in "mother liquid" and think it is a cool interpretation.  Glad you like the BW.  

I hope to see some of your underwater shots.  I bet they will be fantastic, once you figure it out.  I am also experimenting.  You might be interested that this is the same model on the same day as my work entitled "Kaua speaks his mind".  She is a beautiful and fearless model.  I really owe the success to her willingness and ability to be underwater (or in other weird situations) and look confident and serene.
