margaret_s. 0 Posted October 10, 2003 A little different from my usual photo. I welcome your comments. Link to comment
brambor 2 Posted October 10, 2003 Excellent tonal range. Wonderful sky and sand texture. The rocks have a nice glow. All the colors are very pleasing. The only issue I might have is with the urban dwellings. Some of them are obscured by the greenery. They don't seem to be telling enough to the viewer. I wish they weren't even in the picture to complete this wonderful nature photograph. Link to comment
jos www.inpix.biz 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Reminds me of how I imagined other places while I was reading in books as a child....wonderful memories and a captivating photo for me, thank you. Link to comment
thomas_breazeale1 0 Posted October 10, 2003 This is a very interesting image Margaret, you have got the color just right IMO.If I were you I would crop out the contrails in the sky, they have no business being in landscapes. Link to comment
jay_patel 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Excellent colors. Great photo...It could have been even better without the houses. Link to comment
mellimage 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Very interesting look, colorful, nice textures and light and an unreal feel to it. Well done. Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Thank you all so much for your comments so far, it's very much appreciated! Thomas, I didn't even think those streaks were contrails. I thought they were part of the cloud's wispy streaks. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll pay more attention to these in the future. Some of you commented about the houses being in the way. Ideally I agree, but can you imagine living in one of these and having this view (and of the ocean on the far left) out of your living room window every day?! But back to the image. For sake of authenticity, I prefer to leave them in as this is exactly what it looks like at the tip of the Annisquam lighthouse. A good alternative, but in this case I prefer to be true to the location and its landmarks :-) Link to comment

karen habbestad 0 Posted October 10, 2003 beautiful landscape. before i read the techs i thought it HAD to be digital, with that luminous glow, and that certainly it was october light.... wrong on both accounts, but close on one anyway ;-) rarely do we see light of that quality down here. and yes...i can imagine having this view..what a treat that would be ;-) Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Grazie tanto, Francesco! Spero che potro tenere fede a quest'idea! (si dice cosi? :-)Karen, you were close! These rocks really look fantastic in the warm early autumn light and they really do have this lovely ochre coloring to them. The beach is actually private, nestled amongst all these (very expensive) homes but one of the residents was kind enough to let me trek through their yard so I could get down there and take a few shots! (more like a roll) :-) Link to comment
chris_womack 0 Posted October 10, 2003 Awesome shot! (thanks to the obliging resident) The light, colours, & texture are all fantastic!!! Well done Margaret! A 7/7 if ever I saw one! Link to comment

atle.g 0 Posted October 11, 2003 Lovely shot, both in composition and tonality... the only pick is the contrail, but a little top crop will take away the upper part wich is most prominent without disturbing the comp. Well done!! Link to comment
kkwan 0 Posted October 11, 2003 The light, tonality and colours are just wonderful here. The composition draws the viewers right into the picture. The contrail is really more than mildly distracting. I agree with Atle on cropping it out. Nice shot. Link to comment
