Fall Frame

saratogatravel

Picture take through footbridge over small lake. Taken in aperture priority with a tripod. Tried to get a different image of fall foliage. I used the bridge and its wood texture to frame the hill. I will take pictures here again as the leaves change so I am very interested in any feedback on this approach.

Please give me feedback on one of my first fall pictures with many

more to take as the leaves keep changing. I was trying to take a

different look at the foliage and tried to use this approach to some

perspective and texture to the shot. It looks best big so look at

it in large. Feedback is appreciated as I will be back at the lake

next week to shoot.

lovely exposure and color, my suggestion, if your going to use an object(the fence) as a frame to the subject (the trees and reflection), make it balanced, the post on the left should be an equal distance from the edge of the frame, as the right.. regards

Thanks for the feedback. I intentionally did not center this picture as I thought it would it would be a photo no-no. I'm still learning and will take the picture as you suggested.

Great photo ! You captured very well the mood around the water. Personally I would have left out the nature part behind the right vertical pole. The

this is great.

i disagree with other comments... it should defnately not be equal each side, it then becomes a pointless exercise and you might as well not frame it atall.

i also like the bit of nature on the right, it makes sense for it to be there... though perhaps it being bright distracts from the framed image?

compositionally, i would have put the right hand post further in, only slightly though.

i'll attach one without the distraction on the right.

this is well done though, well spotted.
