Interesting philosophical and psycho-sociological view, Raluca! It is true, at least for some of us! Most of us I would say!

Thank you for your visit and the interesting contemplation!

What a handsome young man Pierre. So good to see you posting some Portraits. He seems a wee bit shy, but very relaxed in your presence.  Very nice work Pierre. Such beautiful eyes.

Bravo, Gail!

All you said is right! That gentleman is only seven years old and saw me for the first time!

Best regards

Dear Pierre,

I've enjoyed looking at the last portraits you've shared.

This portrait is definitely the one I like the most, due to the great, so natural expression of the child. I think you've managed to find his character in the loving gesture that he shows us.

You're at the height of his eyes and that makes us feel close to him. We see the world through his sight.

The use of lights is well achieved. I recommend for portraits indoor, the use of softboxes and highly recommended for best management of lights and shadows and angles searching for volume.

If you need an external light meter, then do not hesitate to measure close to his face, to calculate values, at the end, final result is much appreciated, no matter the effort of measuring. No direct flash :)

Searching always for a volume with the aid of light ... I think you got it here!.

Black and white is a strong point in this portrait. I like it!

Congrats Pierre. Kindest regards, Laura

Welcome and thank you for your thorough elaboration, Laura!

As for your advice for using boxes I must reject it because I'm a man of a camera only! Never did studio shots and I think never will!

Best regards

Vrlo dobar portret, odlični tonovi i interesantna poza ovog mladog gospodina. Majstorski iskorišćeno postojeće svetlo. Veliki pozdrav, Pero.

Ha!

It's the stupid site policy, you can only send one size, very small for an ID portrait while some people upload originals in their portfolios! Crazy!

So I didn't have a big choice of photos to upload and on that one I don't look angry!
