Four Stream in Evening Light

My wife and I hiked Staircase Rapids in the Olympic National Park

yesterday and when we got to Four Stream I saw this light I knew I had

something special. Unfortunately the best viewing required me to

ditch my boots and socks, roll up my pants, and wade this VERY cold

stream. I made my way about 50 yards or so and set up my tripod in

the middle of the stream, stood knee deep in the water, and started

shooting. I really wanted to capture this magical light but I also

knew I needed detail in the shadows so I bracketed 4 exposures and

blended them in Nik HDR Efex and then used a couple of luminosity

masks in Photoshop to help the image appear as natural as possible. I

hope you like it and I would love to hear your comments. If your

monitor is properly calibrated you should see plenty of detail

throughout the highlights and shadows (especially when viewed large).
