Pristinee cloud coverage Holger, a good time of day to shoot for sure. I tend to revisit many of my static images to see how they hold up in different lighting situation, perhaps even a visit at twilight .

Great job the way you have it, well done

Along with the main subject, I like the elements on the right which add to the story and perceived depth.

I was not there but my instincts tell me that if it was mine, I might have made the overall image slightly lighter and then slightly less blue.

Ahh - I just found something to base my decision - the steps at the bottom of the tower should be a neutral gray.

All the best,

I'm not so sure. It looks to me like the steps at the base of the lighthouse are probably painted a dark grey...you know, one of those common concrete floor colours. We have had a bit of a stormy week. Very humid (before yesterday). We were in a 'red storm alert', possible torrential downpours, hail, etc. I looked out our living room window and the sky had turned these shades of blue. There were clouds in the sky, just as they are here. The tops were white and bottoms had this same darker blue. We have a large deck off our living  room, kitchen/back door. I have seen the sky look like this so many times this summer. The grey of the lighthouse itself seems right, the home or resort on the hill in the distance seems white - for me Holger, it looks pretty good. But I am not what anyone would call a good landscape photographer. So from a novice, I like it! :) the sky is really rather beautiful.

Thanks Gail, First off your right about the steps being painted. This was shot midday on a very hot, hazy and humid early afternoon. The white house you refer to is actually the property of Taylor Swift the singer, she was there practicing (you could here it) when walking by and they had lots of security people around for crazy paparazzi (like me) ;D   Thanks again for your visit and kind words.

nice and great composition with different level of deepness between the "Watch Hill Lighthouse", clouds and landscape. Well done..!

Yep, that's her house all right. Just saw it on Insta gram.  Man, sure is big. I could almost feel the Humidity when I looked at this image.
