I'd like for anyone (everyone!) to critique this if they can. Please

comment on cropping, use of negative space (appropriate or not?), the

blue tinting, and some compositional comments. It would be greatly

appreciated to get some feedback from someone who isn't already my

friend, you know, an objective opinion. Thanks!

Too high key and lacking in contrast for my tastes. The pose is interesting. I like the clothes but would prefer it without the blue. It also looks a bit soft. can't tell if it's the scan or not. Would like to see the unphotoshoped version.

Oh wait you said you did it on tmax. It didn't look like toned bw. Would have liked this in color maybe.

I don't think the clothes and pose match. The pose says to me that is it full of life and quite delicate, but the clothes - especially the boots look a lot more "clunky". I would recomment redoing the photo in more "delicate" clothes, or a less delicate pose.

As for lighting I like it appart from the hands on the floor where I think contrast could be better

I like the image. I would crop a little off the top. It would give the image a little more tension. And lose the shoe string hanging from her arm and the bra strap. It would make a cleaner image. It catches the eye and takes it away from the face and expression. James

I like the composition, I like the high key look, but the highlights are just too blown out for me to really appreciate the picture.

As per some suggestions, I tried a B&W version, without bootlace and bra-strap. Highlights remain blown-out because that was the intent - disappearing into the white, basically. Thanks for your comments.

P.S. - Compressing this so it doesn't look like crap is giving me problems - it should be pin-sharp.

I like the dichotomy between the pose and the clothes, tho, i'm sorta getting a "cheetah ready to strike" vibe off of it as well, which meshes _very_ well with the clothes and 'tude. Like the blown-out effects as well.

I think this picture works well. The pose, clothes, lace, strap, nails, hair, expession, high key etc. Its all very good.

I think the blue toning looks nice. I also think the bra strap helps the picture rather than detracts from it. I'm indifferent to the boot lace. The blown out quality of the image is what sets it apart. I like the creativity that went into this photo.

Fabulous shot. I realized that the skin blending into the white was intended before I read your notes. The effect looks intended, stark and eye capturing.

I love the animalistic pounce of the shot. The wisps dangling, the bra strap dishevelled and the blown out hands emphasizing the claw of the nails. The heart of darkness in chunky boots. good job
