Very effective composition and you have managed to depict more or less "fifty shades of gray" in a color photography Tony!

It looks like something "evil" is about to emerge out from the water.

Gorgeous sky and water.  Love the mood and also the composition, (it works even though the horizon is centered).

Well done, David

I love the curve of the lagoon and the trees set against the threatening sky. This picture was an immediate standout when I viewed the latest batch of thumbnails from photographers I follow. Just great balance and tones throughout. Into my favorites.

I like the curved rock wall that leads you right out to the point where the trees are out in the water but to me what makes this a great shot is the sky and it's reflection. Very nice work.

Patsy, David, Phil, Jack and Brent - I appreciate your visits and words of support for this image. In a world of natural and unnatural color saturation (e.g. Outdoor photography magazine front cover) I might have not posted this one because brilliant colors seem to attract more attention and I, surely, have some of those.  I worked this scene with many images and for a few moments, I simply put the camera down and took in the subtle coloring and took a few deep breaths.

On a technical side I am still using my sigma 10-20mm on the D810 which results in a smaller "DX" image which can be both good and bad. In the meantime, I am saving my nickels (Canada got rid of pennies) for a wide-angle prime FX lens.
