I like the contrast between the curvy, smooth main stems and the knobby, rough fruit stems.  What I would have tossed into the compost, you've turned into art.  Very nice.

After thinking about this more, it fits in well with some of the other shots in your portfolio, especially some of the still lifes, fruits, and bodyscapes, and your shot titled 'Tunnel'.  For that last one, you brought up the subject of aging femininity, which can also apply here.

Mark, thanks for sharing your thoughts. They make me think of the idea put forth that all of our artistic endeavors are autobiographical :-/

Lannie, there actually was a small piece of the skin of one grape left and I spot-healed it out. If I'd thought you'd been looking for it I might have reconsidered.

Amy, at firs sight, I had to think of a salamander or lizard, in the way these are often 'styled' in logos. Even if the shape of this branch is pretty different, somehow it has the same idea of placement to it, the way it occupies its territory and gives shape to what surrounds it.

Thanks, Wouter. It's always good to hear the impressions of other eyes. Often times, looking at photos will bring up impressions that are totally different than what's represented in the actual work. I notice this often when looking at the thumbnails (especially on a small screen like my iPhone). It's like getting two pieces of art for the price of one!
