So, I came across this image I shot a few years back and I decided to

give it a go. I would really appreciate hearing what you do or do not

like about it. What drew me to take this shot and I hope I convey in

this view is how the texture of the tree seems to be in harmony with

the BG and yet the color is in stark contrast. I truly thank you for

taking the time to view and comment.

Craig, there is such detail here that at first I thought the tree was wrapped with something.  It's great in its detail, but I find that by cropping out the tree and only seeing the right-hand snowy scene I think I like the image even more.  Can there be too much contrast between image components?  I don't know.

...for your comments.  David, to be hones I never considered cropping out the FG tree, I will have to try that, it would definitely create an even more "abstract" image.  Thank you so much for the feedback.

I like the contrast and plays of texture. The tree seems too flat and one dimensional to me. If it felt more rounded and solid, I think the photo would work better and suggest more depth.

Thank you so much for your observation!  I see what you are talking about and have done some more work to it.  I selected just the FG tree and then "burned" the edges just enough to give the look of shading.  You are right the tree looks more rounded and does add some depth to the image.  I'll post this new version so you can see and again, thank you for your comments.
