You consistently elevate the female in the midst of a forum that consistently objectifies and dehumanizes it. Thanks for that. This has the classicism of Botticelli without resorting to mimicry or kitsch. It seems to suggest both individual and universal woman, the exposed grace and hidden face. It doesn't titillate and doesn't focus on the surface beauty of a woman's body, even though it has a physical beauty that can't be denied. The beauty here is as much photographic as physical and as much in the spirit with which your perspective, thoughtfulness, sensibility, and instincts are concerned.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to look and comment.

David R.  The relationship of her hair and arm also caught my attention and ended up being the deciding factor in choosing this image.  Glad you saw it too.

David M.  I see it as both "real" and "unreal".  It is quite literal in one sense; a naked woman standing on a rock but I think the mood is a bit unreal; like something from a dream (at least I hope this).  But I do see your point and agree.

John.  Yes, this is how I see it; a dream.  The title translates to something like Fey/Fairy Lover and the Shakespeare reference is appropriate.

Donna.  Wow, a 7!  Thanks.  It was breezy but warm and the sky was overcast giving it some feel that I really liked.  The model is a wonder and makes me look pretty good.  I think she exudes femininity and power.  My job is to make sure everything else in the photo looks right.

Fred G.  I always look forward to hearing your thoughts.  This particular comment makes me blush a bit and I hope I am worthy of it.  It seems to me that whenever you (I) take a photograph of another human being (naked or not), it in some sense objectifies that person.  The challenge is how does the artist objectify the person in a respectful or meaningful way.  I really don't know the answer and can only follow my muse and sensibility.   I am really pleased that you see the overall beauty of the photograph, irrespective of the content and I am humbled that anyone thinks I have an instinct for this. I hope you are right.  I think one of the keys is that, no matter their appearance, the models that I have had the privilege to photograph are confident and have a strong sense of themselves.  That makes my job much easier.

Amy.  I am so happy that you are commenting and posting again.  I am glad that you liked it and thought it timeless.

All the best.  Dana...

Boris.  Thanks for the comment.  Although I had many shots with her face, I felt this was the strongest and had a nice sense of mystery.  A girl needs some secrets after all ;-).  All the best.  Dana...
