Well-known plot/scene. I can remind photos by David Muench and Galen Rowell. I like Rowell's variant.

Your's variant is not bad. I doubt about balance of this tree. And the contrast between lighted tree and dark sky could be more pronounce, imho.

The resulting image is just so beautiful Lester. I am so glad that you decided to do a night shot.  It is amazing to know that 'Bristle Cone Pines' are among the oldest living organisms on earth. I looked this up after seeing images that Brent Fox, a member of PN had posted. You really should have this matted and framed or at least do a Canvas Print Lester. It is exceptional.  Going to my Favorites and will be back to rate it when I can give it what it deserves :)

I had very knowledgeable photographer friends who gave me tips on how to shoot the stars and I guess I didn't disappoint  with this shot. Yes, would be nice to frame this too. Thanks! - LESTER
