aplumpton 16 Posted July 30, 2015 Looking at the image again and the other one suggested by Micheal, I think that the impression of the odd angle for the plane (at least for a 4-engined large aircraft and not an acrobatic plane) may have been caused by the use of a fairly long focus lens or longer setting of a zoom lens. The trees are in fact probably more distant than they seem and at the top of a more distant mountain or hill. It might be interesting to know from Janine what focal length and sensor size she employed, if that was recorded. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 30, 2015 End - I simply was pointing out that the other image did not appear to have the same deficiencies that previous comments addressed. Perhaps I was a bit too emphatic in my statement about that image being selected as the POTW. I hope you would agree that the other image also succeeds as " . . . seeing an interesting event unfolding, pointing a camera at it and pressing the shutter." Link to comment
endof_days 0 Posted July 30, 2015 Yes Michael and I was simply pointing out that what you had suggested was impossible without access to a time machine. Link to comment
Bettendorf 334 Posted August 30, 2015 Magnificent photo! Likewise the drama that goes with it. Link to comment
