Len:

It looks as if you were in the right position to take some good action shots at the game.

Hi Len,

Wonderful action shot with great colors & clarity.  Take care, Patsy

I was actually about 150 ft from home plate, just past the 2nd - 3rd base line & back a few rows.  Gave me a mediocre view of home plate when the people with ball caps & beer refills (all too common) were moving about & getting in my optical path.  But once in a while, as in this shot, things went well.  Got about 15 keepers out of about 250 shots. Glad I wasn't using film.  :-)  Best, Len.

The dome was closed due to the rain outside so thank goodness for the bright artificial lighting there.  It allowed for shutter speeds of around 1\500 sec @ f 5.6 & ISO 1600.  Can't complain about the colours or clarity.  Thank you Nikon.  Best, Len.

The sports action shot is superb, including catching the ball in the frame, but equally entertaining are all the expressions (and lack thereof) on all the spectators. I like the old guy (I can say that at my age) at lower right and am really surprised to only see two telephones.  Good stuff... Mike

Good to get your take on this action shot.  As for getting the ball in the frame after the hit, well, luck is good!  By the 'old' guy, you mean the one you thought looked like Jimmy Carter with a Jays cap?  (like that would happen!)  :-)  As for the phones, the fans only take them out after the game as they walk slowly (saunter?) across a busy intersection in Toronto.  Actually I am pleased at the detail available.  One can actually see the faces of the fans quite clearly.  Not bad for a crop sensor and ISO 1600.  Going to an Argos (CFL) football game this afternoon.  Same venue and likely same lighting conditions.  Stay tuned for any postable results. Best, Len.
