Fantastic!  I have some recent experience to testify to the diffulculty of this shot... Mike

Thanks for your enthusiasm.  I felt this rendered best in B&W, partly because of the low key and partly because of the noise which resembles film grain.  (a bit retro)  I had peanuts out for the Blue Jays but these guys and the squirrels conspired to highjack the photo experience.  Lemonade from lemons it would seem.  Best, Len.

Definitely. It's a distinctive picture. The quote was in reference to the Edgar Allan Poe poem "The Raven" (Even though it's probably not one)

I'll have to look that one up.  I don't recall ever reading Poe but one of my favourite movies when I was a kid was "The House of Usher" with Vincent Price.  Scared the bejeebers out of me for months. I must agree, this shot fits the mood of that movie.  :-)  Thanks for taking the time.  Best, Len.

It helps to have an attraction for these guys (peanuts).  'C'ontinuous' mode is also a big help.  That, and a ton of luck.  :-)  With your 10 fps camera results like this should be even easier for you.   Thanks for your visit & thoughts on this humble offering.  Best, Len.

The ugly side of the birds I would say, the dark one! Speaking of darkness I like the low key approach to this picture! Very impressive indeed!

Best regards, Len!

The kind of pet Batman or Darth Vader would appreciate. :-)  Low key seems to work to this offering's advantage.  Thanks for your visit.  Best, Len.
