Rose Breasted Grosbeak

Fabulous detail obtained Gary!!! You have a fine collection of some of my favorite backyard birds. We don't see too many where we live - but are hearing more and more this year. We have planted quite a few trees and they are getting to be a good size. When we first moved in there was only a 100 yr old Old Oak. The yard is large and I thing the birds were too scared to even come to our feeder. I hope to soon see some of the beautiful birds you have taken such lovely images of!

Thanks so much for your kind words. Earlier this spring I was unable to walk with out the aid of crutches due to some health issues and the whole backyard birds thing proved to be my therapy. I would hobble out and sit for hours observing and taking a few photographs. I have since shed the crutches and have moved on to nature photography in other locations, yet I find myself drawn back to my little bird sanctuary and still spend a lot of time there. I guess sometimes the things we seek have been right in front of us all along. I have always known the value of patience but this kind of took it to a new level for me.
