thadley 15 Posted June 12, 2015 There is an openness that is beautifully conveyed. I like the fence, the wide open field, the horses, the barn, the trees in the middle portion and also the the growth on the fence.I have made a simple change to your image with a crop and a frame and I really mean it when I say that my version is not the 'right' version. It is the way I would go but you are the artist here and you must go with what pleases you. I decided to crop much from the sky and some might argue that this sky balances with the bottom green portion and it gives the image room to breathe. Others might claim that it does not add value.I have added a big black border and that adds a measure of controversy: some may like it while others will not. Why a Black border? The theory is that white attracts the eyes so a white border might do that so on the contrary, a black border would allow you to concentrate better on the image. I am also beginning to salivate about this scene late in the afternoon with long warm shadows. So before I sound like a bag of air, I will stop here, All the very best, Link to comment
waveguide 0 Posted June 13, 2015 Thank you, Tony. I like the crop and frame on your version. I am partial to big skies, though, so I also like my version. It’s OK to have two perspectives of the same shot. I appreciate the time you took to re-frame the shot.-Jim Link to comment
