jim_herriott 0 Posted October 4, 2003 Thoughts on the framing or the depth of focus--would it have been better to keep all the veins in the leaf in focus? Link to comment
hoon 0 Posted October 4, 2003 I don't think so, Jim. In your composition, both the blue background and out-focused leaf on left are helping us to see middle spot, and lead our eyes to the edge of the leaf. Very attractive colour composition. Link to comment
mplonsky 0 Posted October 4, 2003 To answer your question - yes. Color and detail of the in focus portion of the leaf as well as color of the sky are really good. Link to comment
timothy_hawkes 0 Posted January 6, 2004 You have some nice nature macro work here, but I don't much care for this one. Some nice component parts, but the net effect for me is "so what?" I like the detail in the leaf and the backlighting. I also like the blue black patchwork to the right, but I find the out of focus portion of the leaf highly distracting (of course, you eliminate that and you lose the nice background). Also, the overall composition seems off balance: too much leaf? too many elements competing for attention? Link to comment
