harry_buettner 0 Posted May 23, 2001 WOW the air is dirty where you take photos... Haven't seen so much smog in a shot before.. Or is it a filter maybe? Link to comment
jumpmaster 0 Posted May 23, 2001 I had a feeling that was the Texas Gulf Coast as soon as I saw the picture! (Originally from Beaumont and my dad used to live at Crystal Beach!) Link to comment
hazel_billingsley 0 Posted May 23, 2001 The photo is a print. I normally try to shoot slide film. I thought the scan looked too soft so I messed with it in Photoshop with a plug-in called Edge or Edger. The dawn air was clear and nice. I don't get how you see smog, you can see the fishing boat way off. We don't have bad air here, I know we have a lot of plants around Texas but I don't think it's worse than anywhere else. Thanks for your comment though, good or bad - it is appreciated. Link to comment
chjohnson 0 Posted June 1, 2001 I think there is an automatic assumption that a sky of that color will be the result of either smog or some other particulates, like smoke from a forest fire a few hundred miles away. But I have taken sunrise shots with those colors off the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota, where the air is very clear. I really love the depth of field in this shot -- truly wonderful. It really helps the tone and texture of the smooth waves come out nicely. Link to comment
