Eloquent and charming!

Thanks.  That was my youngest daughter, back in 1981, who would lull herself to sleep by gently kicking her rocking chair, which had a music box that played while it rocked.

 

It's an old print from 1981 that I recently rescanned, now that I have a better scanner.  The negatives were lost long ago.  I have only two prints, both on Kodak N surface RC paper.  Some of my RC prints from back then were hastily prepared in a college darkroom and are starting to show some slight deterioration, so I thought I'd better rescan them now.  My earlier scans from 10-15 years ago didn't pick up the subtle highlight texture from the film grain.  This new scan does.

This is a wonderful shot with tones I could only dream of achieving. Exactly the right thing to do, preserving this image; it's a good one.
