lauramarco 0 Posted March 26, 2015 Dear Bill, just taking a look at this portrait, It came to my mind the series that Warhol made to Marilyn, It was on silkscreen, but in color, as well. This remembrance is due to the synthesis of forms you've made. You've summarized the essence of this woman: the angles of her face, a little of the wing of the hat, a brush of shirt collar and hair frames her face ... but its color is almost only suggested and lost with the background. There are broad strokes of the face. I'm attracted by the ring in her nose, has a racial twist for me, always reminds me of the origins of mankind, tribes which used body ornaments and give them much prominence. Lines of eyes makeup, attracts much.A brilliant portrait, done with great boldness and knowing how to summarize large brushstrokes and features of her face, so it's ... chapeau!congrats, Kindest regards, Laura Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 3, 2015 I am sorry I did not see this one sooner Bill. You've always taken excellent captures of Ali, but your artistic creativity with this image truly does offer a more 'graphic' result but not over the top. I really like the many levels of white through to grey and into black. Exceptionally well done. I have not had much luck with this kind of work at all. Congrats on a fine composition! Link to comment
