Liminal Space

I like the several transitions that are shown: shoe on/off; dress shoe/casual shoe; dark wood/light wood; carpet/wood; illuminated/shadow (through vignetting). 

Amy.  So good to see some of your work getting posted.  This place needs you.  There are many thresholds and transitions going on here and that makes the title perfect.  I like the dissonance created by the shoe on the foot but no match anywhere in the frame.  All the best.  Dana...

Mark, Dana, and Donna: thanks so much for adding your comments. Dana, I think you are right that the missing match to the shoe may be what gives this shot a feeling of something just a little bit "off".  I hadn't thought of that myself, but it makes sense.

I see, or more importantly feel, vulnerability. The socked foot seems so exposed against the rich wood floor and dark surrounding shadows and the foot next door that is allowed its armor. 

Thanks Drew and Fred. Vulnerability is an interesting thought. It kind of goes along with transition many times. Thanks for your impressions.

I love the mystery.  Lit like a crime scene photo.  And the missing shoe?  Hmmm.
