Perfectly designed and perfectly composed. I like the complimentary colors of red and green in this image. The Bicycle is essential here IMHO because  of its color but it also hints at the human aspect.

Thanks for the comment. I didn't have to think much about this picture, it kind of composed itself. The bicycle is central, of course. Bicycles are used much differently here than they are in north America. You can see a baby seat on the back and of course the ubiquitous shopping basket. I use my bicycle as my major source of transportation around northern Osaka, for shopping and to take me around when I go shooting. Until I came to Japan I hadn't ridden a bicycle for probably 30 years or more. Now I couldn't live without it.

The bike does seem to have its special place.  It is as if the entire structure were designed to showcase the bike.

The Mom with the red bike....living in a well-structured/geometrical house:) gives a nice start to this story. Very balanced view, br Hannu

To me, this one is all about the right angles and the geometry; the bike is nice as a place to rest the eye, but the repeating rectangles and lines get me every time.

Jack - the bicycle mentality is very prevalent in other countries and I have experienced it when I spent a month in Holland many years ago. Over there, Ruud's images bring back so many memories. I was quite impressed with a bike parking lot and it seemed to me that there must have been 1000 of them in there. The number was probably far less than a thousand but perception is often reality.

Jack,

I like modern houses like this for their geometry, subtle design on lines and forms originality. the two long vertical windows make the house breathe and see. The structure looks solid and with its concrete wall, seems to envelope and protect that precious red bicycle.  The fit lady of the house must have green fingers, and soon may take her kid to school. Very nicely taken photograph!
