GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted January 31, 2015 I find the image rather beautiful. My first thought was to straighten it Christal, but recalled that when I have taken images in the Cemetary where my Mom is buried, the grave stones are never quite straight, and the lay of the land changes a lot. The more I look at the stones, I see some that are pretty straight, the big tree in the background appears to be quite straight - I figure this is exactly how the land is in this area. It is so lovely to see the sun streaming through the branches of the trees. I can appreciate the mood you express in this image. I am always fascinated by the inscriptions on the oldest stones, wondering just what kind of life that person may have had. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 31, 2015 Pierre....thanks, it was really early morning, so I was able to get some nice light. Gail....I struggled with the evenness as well. But it was an old cemetery, and you're right.....things were going every which way. I grew to like the randomness of it all. :-) So good to hear from you.....I'll have to get over and see if you're posting again. :-) And I, too, am fascinated by old cemeteries! If those stones could talk, eh? Thanks, Gail! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted February 2, 2015 As you know I tend to look at photographs emotively first and then secondarily for technical quality. My first impression was that this was a metaphorical sunset for the inhabitants; but without taking this too deep, the sunrise works equally well. Well done... Mike Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted February 4, 2015 Emotively.....love that word! I love cemeteries in general, but particularly early in the morning. There was a beautiful glow covering the cemetery this a.m., so I tried my best to capture it. Glad you like it.....thanks! Link to comment
