I like it! slightly closer would have been nice, but this has lots of interest as it is. I also love the way the background fades into nothing. well done!

Thanks for the input Ralton! Yes, maybe shot slightly closer this would work better... The lens I had could not focus any closer, but perhaps a tighter crop could do it.

Welcome Marco! I see that you have recently signed on to PN. Hope you enjoy your time here. I have never really seen the creatures who inhabit these shells very often, and they are quite unusual 'dwellers' :) You achieved some pretty decent detail in this capture. You have a few choices with your crop if you ever decided to try them. Were you using the 55-250mm EFS?? If you were, I found with that lens (at least the model I had) sometimes could be a bit 'soft' at 250mm, but then again this fellow may have been just beyond that distance and that can make a difference as well. I applaud you for getting the shot! I hope some day I will be able to see one on the beach!! I would have done anything I could to try to get this capture!

Thanks for your kind words Gail. Yes the lens I used was the canon 55-250 efs. I never noticed the drop in detail you speak of... I'll give more attention to that! But yes... this is just one shot of a long series to try to get just the right frame and focus!
