This was shot nearly an hour after sunrise. But the light was still

pretty good. Had to get my feet wet for this one. Thanks for your

input.

This is a very nice shot. I like the line of bright green trees that moves through the picture. My only question is the slight color cast in the clouds. They seem a touch magenta to me. I don't think it would be from thd ND filter as I've used Hitech ones before with no cast. Perhaps the sun was still low in the sky or the scan picked up a slight tinge. Either way it's a minor issue and overall I enjoyed the photo.

The line of trees sloping down from the right makes this a composition that stands out from the rest. The vivid Velvia colors are absolutely gorgeous and the crystal clarity is stunning. The slight magenta cast in the clouds could be eliminated, but it doesn't really bother me.

Thanks everyone for the comments. As for the magenta cast, it definitely came from the grad. I own four Hitech ND grads: 2- and 3-stops, soft and hard edge. The 3-stop hard, used in this shot, shows an obvious magenta cast. The other grads are neutral.

I actually tried to remove some of the magenta in PS. But decided that I don't mind it so much in this case.

It's a wonderful capture and if the magenta really did bother you it would be gone. Truly fine composition allied with spectacular color. Bravo!

A nice variety of colors and contrasts in this one image. While I do think you have composed this very nicely, I am not so convinced about the foreground itself. It's certainly not as moving as the rest of the scene in my opinion. How about cropping qite a bit of the foreground out, and perhaps making this more of a panoramic?? Just an idea, still a beautiful capture of a very nice location.

PS- How do you get your homepage icon to display. I've tried a dozen things with no success.

You make it way to hard to find something to critique. Seems like all we can ever say is that we want a poster size print to look at. Very nice.

I agree, the crop downplays the not as spectacular foreground. However, it required the excellent shot to to have somethine to crop in the first place. Great shot.
