This is just gorgeous.  So moody, so simple, so evocative.  Perfecto!

the golden sepia stamps the contemplative sensibility of the scene just right David, the background tree receding into the dreamy mist, mirroring her forward sister, is striking aesthetic geometry full of poetry. However, to my eyes, the space given to right of frame seems contrived and excessive considering the story is all about your title; the trees. Of course, subjective as everything is, if this beauty was mine I’d square crop it, make a large print, and hang it on the wall.

Carlos - you're right about some compositional discomfit here.  A square crop would probably be more pleasing.  Sometimes I like to break the rules a bit - and here the lowering sky, broken foreground tree, and fading distant tree created a sense of foreboding - and I wanted the walker, (or viewer) to have an empty space to escape.
