Kealia Beach (Best viewed Large)

vincetylor

This is two minutes from my home in Kealia, Kauai. The Hawaiian red-dirt (color is real) is famous for red-dirt tee shirts out here. These white flowers bloom only once a year and last for about one week total. I was running with my dogs when I noticed they were in bloom as well as how clean ocean conditions looked. Went home picked up the gear and came back. On a side note: There was a truck parked right in the middle of the red dirt here. The owner (laying in the sun) saw me shooting and offered to move it out of the way....how often does that happen nowadays? Your comments and opinions are always appreciated. www.hawaiianphotos.net

Here is another version currently in our print line. I think this newer one posted above may have a bit more to offer. Feel free to share your opinions as well. Notice though how the upload muted the colors here. You can tell by comparing the two green accents between this one and the original posted above.

Aloha Vincent! They're both great, but I like the saturation on the first one more. It really has PUNCH! I also like your anecdote about the truck. Regards.

This I like...a lot.You have a very good balance of colors and composition and I especially like the color balance between the sky and sea.Good polarizer work Vincent.

I get a real sense of depth looking over the foreground onto the sand, nice choice of composition. This is a good example of turning an everyday scene(in Hawaii at least)into a high quality image through sound photographic skills. Here Vincent the saturation is just fine.Well done!

I like the original better, gives more breathing room to the tree or bush on the right. This image has such strong intense colors and is beautifully composed. All of your photos really wanted me to sell my car and take a trip to Hawaii right now.

Amazing scape as usual. The original upload looks better for me. Truck driver probably didn't know that you could clone him out with his truck.

Give me a folding chair, a few cold ones, and some shade and I could stare out at this all day. I'm envious of your daily view and you've captured it perfectly. Though the dark foreground doesn't really bother me, I wonder how some toned down fill flash would look with this.

Thanks for your comments here. Yes Ed, you can walk the dogs for me since I am planning a three week trip in October. Nobody else in my family wants to do the job. Poor babies will get fat and lazy if nobody steps in.

I should add one more point about taking this image. You can clearly see that these green plants have VERY pointy tips...literally like needles. Let me say that these tips pierce through your skin easily, often, and quickly. I am in the middle of them here and want to say that their beauty is deceiving!....trust me.
