AlainD 0 Posted January 1, 2015 Re-processed image of Goðafoss, Iceland. See Goðafoss (2) in the same folder (one click left) to see the problem encountered with the sky in this image. Any preference between this and the previous version? Any suggestion? Thanks a lot for your feedback! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 1, 2015 Impressive scene and equally impressive image;since you asked,I prefer the other version as I find the sky here with a greenish tint. The banded sky on the other does not distract me as the prime part of the scene is that strong and attention keeper.Excellent work as usual.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
rshenderson 20 Posted January 2, 2015 ALAIN…….I agree with Laurent. I feel the other image gave the picture more depth. Over all a well composed image of one of my favourite subjects, moving water. Best regards. Bob. Link to comment
cegeiss 6 Posted January 2, 2015 Alain,I prefer the smoothed-out sky over the patchy one, but I preferred the color of version 2 over the sky color of version 3. Just as with most of your Iceland images - this one is again marvelous. I also appreciate the discussion of the various versions and your description of the techniques.Thank you for sharing! AlainD 0 Posted January 3, 2015 Thanks to you three for your very helpful comments! When I posted this image and compared it with the other (click left), I realised that the sky was greenish. I hadn't notice that during the re-post-processing, and felt... too lazy to rework on it one more time. But your comments will help me find the energy to do so! The aim will be a more blue sky and maybe to keep some "patches" to give depth. I guess I should try to keep the mountains in the background a bit more visible, as suggested by Jeff Bryce. Again, thanks a lot for the input! Link to comment
momagnum 5 Posted January 4, 2015 Hi AlainFor some reason I find it difficult to take pictures of water falls. You have more luck and most likely greater skill. This is an excellent image. The perspective is magnificent. The best part of it is your handling of the colors, the pale cyan of the water and the heavy grayish blue of the sky. Well done.Happy new year.Tommy Link to comment
