ANY critique and ratings are welcome. I'm not a big fun of massive

frames, however this time I decided that this black border could focus

viewer's attention in the best way. Your feedback is appreciated.

IMHO the shadows on the leaves make this more interesting, their (nearly regular) repetition... Like some kind of steps, drawing the eye in...

I like the way the diagonal shadows across the leaves. The yellow leaves at the bottom right acts as a lead in to the image. Too bad part of it is a little too "rotten".

Armindo, Jiri, and Daniel, thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Armindo, my intension was different than to capture just boring leaves. It was easy to get rid of shadows by choosing of a different lighting, e.g a couple hours later or at midday. Actually, Jiri is right, the shadows are very important here. My eye was attracted by this interaction of regular shadows and round shapes of the leaves as well as by this play of sunny spots on leaves.

Daniel, a good eye. I even didn't notice this rotten leaf. So far I can't decide if it's bothering me or not.

The shadows caught my eye. They make this photo and it as all about them. The lilies are here only as a backdrop. It was a wise decision to add this thick black frame.

I think it works well. The simplicity of the colors !! Green and dark blue..some yellow accents. Art abstract. Well done. Easy 6/6. PK .

It's the shadows that I like the most! I definitely think they make the photo. As for the rotten leaf, it doesn't bother me. Nature is about constant death and regeneration. It boils down to a choice between aesthetics and portraying authenticity (reality).

Hi, Vlad. You captured interesting play of light and shades on nice background. Actually background is good by itself, but shades are bringing reverie and originality in the image. Regards, Galina

Vlad - Assuming the shadows are from trees along the shoreline, I'd place this at mid afternoon and you are looking South. - Mister Ken

I do not understand what can be considered as original about this picture? As for the outcome, it's average. We have seen 1000 pictures just the same.

I appreciate everyone for stopping by and commenting/rating.

Ken, everything was in *opposite direction*, it was late morning, I was looking Manitoba (=North).

Yes, Marion, you are right, just boring lilies. So, what would you suggest, nude self-portrait in the frame of waterlilies? I thought about that. Unfortunately, I'm not as sexy and attractive as you are, so I don't think that many of photonetters will appreciate it. So, my faith is just waterlilies... My only guess about this image is that when people define it as *original* they mean the photo was both taken and posted by the SAME person, not somebody else.
