AlainD 0 Posted December 20, 2014 Öxarárfoss at dusk, Iceland. 104 sec at f/14. Thanks for your feedback! Link to comment
andrzejp 9 Posted December 21, 2014 Splendid. Looks like a perfect application of the filter. Well balanced. I wonder if "cool tones" are due to filter or tonal adjustment? Link to comment
AlainD 0 Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks for your nice words!Andrew: it was shot at dusk and the sun was completely hidden, so there were only cool tones (see the original unprocessed JPEG just above). In the reality it was clearly less blue. On my 5D (and I guess it's true for all digital bodies) a 104 sec exposure gives a very blue image. You can correct it with the RAW file. But for the image posted yesterday I've made a B&W conversion with Silver Efex Pro and used a "selenium" filter to add a blueish cast.By the way, if you compare the 2 images, you can notice I had to use a small part of another image taken a few minutes before so that the little "canal" in the foreground is more visible. It's only on the computer that I noticed that the canal got more and more frozen as minutes were going by. Link to comment
andrzejp 9 Posted December 23, 2014 Fantastic post work. Thanks for the explanation. I also use Nik Collection, mainly Vivenza for light and Silver Efexs for B&W conversion. Link to comment
