Pierre Dumas 280 Posted December 13, 2014 Welcome and thank you, Ajay! It wasn't exactly and ordinary scene, but you are right about my genial touch with my Topaz imaginary brush! PDE Link to comment
lauramarco 0 Posted December 13, 2014 Dear Pierre, let us go to that forlorn place, it seems that long ago there was music, illuminations, all crowded. It seems it was a pleasure resort. In the centre there's something like a bandstand and one realises that this image means to convey a certain musical impression or pleasure, something that is sweet to our senses.Colours are very stunning, many different tones and a wide range all together in a very small place. I think that this image would have worked well in monochrome, too. Two or three tones for all.I try to recreate in my mind a sunset in this place, it must be very lovely and I would have liked to see this place with a low light, just a sunset... and lights and colours from that time of the day, entering through glasses of windows, maybe?Kindest regards, Laura. Pierre Dumas 280 Posted December 13, 2014 Dear Laura, Is this your diplomatic way to return me for my not so good critique on your latest! I have here only one another version of the same photo and it isn't B&W!I think I have tried, though to add a sun in the empty space on the upper left, obviously it didn't go for I can't find such version in my home portfolio of 33000 pictures! Thank you for your suggestive comment Un abrazo fuerte PDE Link to comment
lauramarco 0 Posted December 13, 2014 Dear Pierre, I think your critique in my last image, is very good. I like it and appreciate it. If all were praises ... what are we supposed to learn ?, do we know everything ?, no ... just a few know everything and we're not professionals. I have no team working for me and my ideas and I don't sit making photos with a Hasselblad :)We are all learning, we're restless souls who seek to give a shape to life's beauty and a meaning to our surroundings through photography.A harmful critique is quickly noticed, a good and constructive critique stands proudly by itself due to its value. I try to always write the latter ones, at least I try...I've looked at your other version in the link you give, it looks better in relation to the part of the pillars that rise the building on water, here you've losen the simplicity of these pillars. With a sun? ummmm... My experience tells me that although sometimes I add things and objects, but the more you can get in situ at the spot and moment of the shot, the better ...I do like your work ... I encourage you to continue doing many things. I would comment more, to more photos in general but I need time to work on mine. Thanks for everything, Reading you it's a pleasure.Kindest regards, Laura. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted December 13, 2014 Dear Laura, I think the other version (and the original) don't have the simplicity of this one, after all the filter I used here is called "simplify"!Thank you for teaching me a lesson about critique! And thank you for telling me that my critique was very good for you, a stone fell of my heart...and broke my foot, ha! Cheers to that Muchas abrazos fuertes PDE Link to comment
