I'll make it a 3 Wow vote!  The scenery is spectacular and the figure is dessert.  Fantastic work... Mike

Alain, Jorg, Patsy, Mike, AJ, Jorge and Thom - many thanks for your wonderful comments. The photographer is Jim Cowan who has some very nice images here at photo.net and it is because of Photo.net that we were able to meet for the first time. He has been photographing at this park for many years and was very generous in showing me some of his favorite spots.  In the end, we prefer to work solo.

I took a couple of other shots of him looking into his viewfinder but I thought that this one where he was just taking a moment to admire the scene 'spoke to me'.  Maybe the reason that speaks to me is that I am often caught between a rock and a hard place when I should simply be taking in the beauty of the place instead of 'working' to capture the scene.

The reason I feel the need to be busy'working' the scene is because the environment can change so rapidly. One moment you have still water for a perfect reflection and a few minutes later the wind picks up and you have water that looks like frosted glass. With fog, it is even more dynamic - it can partially clear and then recover an area in minutes.  And in the back of your mind you wonder if there is even a nicer spot close by. The answer is to focus on the spot you have chosen.

Now, this Parc Tremblant is becoming my favorite "Fall location" even though it is a 2 hour highway drive to get there but at least - it can be a day trip - start at 4 in the morning and be back home at 9 pm and too tired to even look at my images until the next day.

All the very best and thank you for your visits and supportive comments.

PS It was overcast on that morning so I decided not to include the gray skies on this shot.

Tony,

Wow! This is the most beautiful reflection which I saw with the beautiful colors of the trees. The water looks like a mirror.

Best regards, Tina
