Trains come and go just like opportunities come along or slip away in our lives. Should we stand still and wait or should we run after them? Questions, decisions...

Thanks you for your thoughtful comment. Yes, I agree, the decisions are there if you care to make them. As always, it's up to each of us how we play the hand.

Love the depth in this image. And there's enough of the train to the left to leave us wondering which way the fellow in the distance chose to go.  Excellent.  The platform, too, adds to the structural quality of the shot.  All in all, nicely seen and composed.  Regards...Bill

When I see an image like this, I cannot but ask myself so many questions about the man waiting for his train. Is he just going home from work, or does he have heavy problems weighing on his mind? Is he nervously waiting for someone? or anxiously waiting to flee? Is he pacing or just casually moving until his train arrives? All these questions in my head could be needless, but putting them aside, the image has great depth, excellent POV, and the light that reflects on the bricks of the platform and off the trains is rather lovely.

Stepping into the light, the man has brought the darkness along with him.  A classical composition with great light and the usual McRitchie open ended storyline.

Truly wonderful. The fact that the man is a silhouette adds to the drama. I also like the toning giving it a sense that it was captured quite some time ago.

Humphrey Bogart?

Excellent work Jack. This has a bit of mystery, great composition, lots of geometric details, and more. Classic in your style.

Bravo, Jack.  Aside from obvious aesthetic and technical merit others already have addressed, this image pulls the viewer in if for no other reason than wondering where this solitary person is going and from whence he came.  Did he already take his journey, or is his journey about to begin?

Hello Jack!   So good to be back after so long, and finding you've kept on going...still captivating people with that elegant style of yours that looks so simple, yet is quite the opposite.

Classic b&w photograph that raises questions far beyond its physics. The leading lines and effective use of tones makes it aesthetically appealing.
