michaellinder 16,612 Posted November 14, 2014 It seems to me that the primary theme in the story this image tells is communication. The phone is locked within a clear encasement with no visible power source. So even though the wasp somehow were able to penetrate the cube, using the instrument would be impossible. And so it is with people sometimes. We build barriers to communication, making authentic connections with others more difficult and, in many cases, impossible. Cell phones, for example, make communication easier, more convenient. Yet watch a family seated around a dinner table while everyone is using one. They are occupying the same space but none of them is present for the others. On another note, the rectangular shapes within the circular ones are fascinating, almost hypnotic. Maybe this has to do with communication as well. Always a privilege, michael Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted November 15, 2014 Thank you for your thorough exploration and as well thorough interpretation, Michael! I said above that I hate cell phones and the story hear isn't exactly about that kind of communication, more about the limited and directed information, media etc!I remember the times when it was being predicted that one day we will be able to communicate with picture and that sounded like exaggeration of some kind and again amazingly! Now, when that stuff came in everyone's pocket we take it as granted and most of that communication is limited to hearsay conversations! Best regards PDE Link to comment
krpradu 125 Posted November 16, 2014 A surreal composition that is free to each of us to imagine so many things about what it can be,and this is the very interesting aspect of your work all the time.I read others opinions and what I said above I think is true.my best thoughts to you Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted November 17, 2014 Welcome and thank you, Radu! Everyone has eyes and mind like myself, therefore everyone has the right to see what he is inclined to see! If most of the viewers see one thing and me another, than something must be wrong with me, ha! Cheers to that! PDE Link to comment

luda_luda 0 Posted November 25, 2014 Hi Pierre, the society we live today have moved to acquire an overwhelming technology. A phone should bring everybody together, specially families and friends shortening distances, but we see the opposite. We see families and friends in a place together, but they are absent, their minds are occupied with the new form of communication "Cellphones" and there is no togetherness, they don't have a communication with themselves, and they are far away from each other in spite of the physical body presence; in this sense the wasp has come and brought the poison biting and isolating all them. They are not having any communication at all, and that is why the phone is cover with glass, they can no reach one another. This is what I see in this image! As always your creativity put our brains to work, and evaluate the so called new society with its technology.Warmest regards,LuDa Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted November 25, 2014 O, welcome Luisa! You don't often come lately especially, but when you come you really have something to say! Thorough and interesting is your interpretation and now I regret that I gave mine in short somewhere above because that what you're now saying made me do these series of pictures with old fashioned phone! I absolutely agree with your point of view and not only me, many others think so!Thank you for making my day! Cheers to that PDE Link to comment
