David, I've been looking at a lot of classical animal portraits lately (17th-19th century). If you removed the collar, and did this one in oil on canvas, it would fit right in! Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing. :)

Hi Trisha - Thanks for the comparison!  I love the old 18th century sporting art - often of dogs in the field, and also still life's of game and acquirements.

I often wish I had learned to paint, but probably just don't have the patience for it, (camera's are quick!).

It's never too late David! I am going to pick up my brushes again after a hiatus of many, many moons and once my kitchen renovation is done (I am setting up a small studio area in my garage)! Life is short so give it a try! :)
