Guest Guest Posted January 23, 2015 Don't laugh, but I've always thought of adagio as more curvy! There's something about the word itself that seems less hard-edged although I agree that the combination of tones and light has a very easy character and there's a peacefulness in the composition overall as well. Maybe it's Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings that influences me in terms of its building circularity. But what adagio looks like to each of us is not really the point, I suppose! In any case the verticals you've chosen here still do have a gentle quality and I like the way the negative space on the right allows the photo to breathe. The light hitting what appears to be metal, rather than having a screeching quality which it often does, gives off that contemplative vibe that your title suggests. I like that it's not a true black and white and the yellows add a particular kind of energy. There's nice movement here. Link to comment
AmyHelmick 0 Posted March 20, 2015 Thank you for the lovely critique, Fred. I've been taking a break for a bit- I'm sorry it took me so long to acknowledge. I am always interested in your take.Amy Link to comment
