Mark Z 371 Posted October 27, 2014 The way the dark grooves contrast with the scratches and grain of the wood is nice. I can definitely see the horse in the grain - very dynamic. The overlying square is similarly dynamic and contorted, unlike the rather static constellation. It also appears that Pegasus is in a gray storm cloud, because the edge of the tree trunk is shaped like a cloud, and the wood texture looks turbulent. Appropriate, given Pegasus's association with lightning and thunder. It all came together in this piece of wood, and you had a great eye to see it. An excellent shot. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 27, 2014 What an eye you have...and of course a vivid imagination without which this would just be a cut stump. I can't improve on Mark's comment so I'll just nod in agreement. Link to comment
