Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 16, 2014 This is obviously a religious ceremony of some kind. I'm guessing this is a mosque though I can't say for sure. With all the ranks of men, heads bent in prayer, the lone woman sitting on the steps is an anomaly. The picture poses a lot of questions but that's exactly what a good photograph should do. Saadsalem 74 Posted October 17, 2014 Thank you so much for your kind input,it is the Friday Muslim's Pray ,where the mosques are full ,sometimes the prayers use the roads and the sidewalks immediately adjacent to the mosques to do their prays . This is Yeni Mosque at Istanbul in one Friday's noon. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 17, 2014 Do you really read people's tags? I don't use them myself so I don't read them. I think they're mostly for people to keep track of their own pictures. Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted October 17, 2014 Saad, Your trademark. Very well taken and interesting because you want the viewer to question all sort of issues, may it be societies, religion, securalism, women conditions here or there. Just, wonder if that lady was wearing a burqa, would it be an anomaly? Thanks for sharing this excellent capture. Link to comment
edbrown 0 Posted October 18, 2014 To me this very well composed image conveys a lot about the cultural complexity of Islam that some of us don't often think about. A woman with her head uncovered sitting casually in close proximity to men praying doesn't fit with the usual stereotypes. And a fine photograph gets the viewer to take notice. ed Link to comment
