Colorado: Sunlight Road: Glenwood Springs

I can't imagine (a common complaint) why anyone would want a silo this short but there it was and I couldn't resist.

Did you see any short-legged cows grazing around here? And does the road name imply that the other local roads don't get any sunshine?

Anyway, the colors are remarkable. If I had to find 2 nits, they would be the small patch of sky and the black vertical thing at the left of the silo.I don't think either are essential to the image, but positioning to remove the post may not have been possible here.

The colors are spectacular, and I love the way the brush angles up, obliquely toward the structure, which is obviously a ...??

I don't mind the sky, though I think I'd like to see more of it. But I don't think I'd have been able to resist the tempation to clone out the stick on the left. (but then the no manipulation attribute would have been lost).

There was a really nice home just across the road from this relatively new looking structure. They may have horses or something but there were none in this field. I liked the fence post so I left it. I don't really consider mild cloning and spotting to be manipulation anymore. This is essentially untouched except for the curves adjustments and hue/saturation to make it show up on the web. I'm still using ImageReady and very happy with what it does. I'm attaching a shot of the same field at about 135° to camera right just to give a feeling of the surroundings.
