I'm guessing you were using a polarizer filter? For this type of scene a polarizer tends to deepen the sky a bit too much if used at full strength. You also get the "starker" transition from deep blue to light blue as the angle of the light moves away from the 90* maximum effect of the filter. IMO, this image would be strengthened by desaturating the sky a little in the upper right to the middle. Just a thought.
