This beautiful & colourful long-beaked bird on the ground caught my

attention in Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India. I do not

know the name of the bird & shall be grateful if someone can identify.

Though very captivating, the bird was far beyond the reach of my

70-300 mm lens attached to my hand-held DSLR. This result was achieved

by heavy cropping. Comments & suggestions are solicited.

Hi Avinash, my guess from u.k. is that bird is a red wattled lapwing, as you said it is a big crop so it would put lapwings in the frame . Nice bird wish I had it on my list! Regards Miken
