patflynn 0 Posted September 24, 2014 I posted this image for the Travel Photo contest here on PN a few months ago, with no success nor even any response. But given the new contest category "Story Behind The Story", I had to try again. This is the South Pole, where all the world's time zones meet, on the first day of the year 2000. Thanks for any feedback! Link to comment
patflynn 0 Posted September 24, 2014 You can read the whole backstory if you are interested. Comments or critique on the photograph would be appreciated either way. Link to comment
charo 3 Posted September 24, 2014 Hi Patrick. I enjoyed reading the backstory, and I have to admit I'm impressed with your determination to fulfill your dreams.Fulfilling dreams sounds easy but is not, and If we get, it is something that satisfies us and makes us proud. Pride of knowing we achieved what we wanted, despite the difficulties and hardships. The conditions were not easy, you had to work hard, but I'm glad things went well, and as a result we have a happy ending.Kind Regards,Rosario. gungajim 75 Posted January 5, 2015 I don't think many people appreciate the degree of difficulty in getting this shot. Conditions, timing and a thousand other factors make this one of the best shots ever posted on PN. But only a few of us will know :-) Link to comment
rjmelone 3 Posted November 27, 2016 Great shot Patrick with excellent use of light, shadow and color! Perfectly framed too and just love the symbolic starburst! Link to comment
