thomas_moraitis 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Nice. Not as creative as the rest of your work. Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Bird and moon nice, but lost in the space. Would be nice to see more of them (crop away right 3/4!)... as said not particularly original though. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Is it just me or is there a little tilt from left to right... With such a beautiful sky I think it's time for a grad ND to get some more detail from the foreground. Good composition leading from the right to the left and the moon. Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted September 20, 2003 Wheeee! Excuses to buy more filters! LOL Thanks for the comments so far. Now I AM noticing the tilt, and its driving me nuts! Time for some surgery... :) I've really been having trouble keeping my horizons straight lately...no clue why. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 21, 2003 beatiful colors =) its sometimes frustrating to see something like this, with the moon and the birds and the ocean, and not to be able to capture it more beautifully than a small dot in the sky, and some dark shapes for the birds =) I'm not just saying this because I read it somewhere, but I'd like to actually see more of an emphasis on the sky, so maybe moving the horizon down in the frame, rather than it be dead center? =) very nice! Guest Guest Posted September 23, 2003 To me it looks like just a snap shot trying to be an interesting image. some sort of interesting shadows would enhance this image. Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted September 23, 2003 "Just a snap shot trying to be an interesting image..." Isn't that what most images are? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Either one person finds it cool or another one doesn't. I find your tone to be a tad belittling. Considering the moon was out over the water and on such an angle, how do you suggest I place dramatic shadows in the image? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 26, 2003 I dont agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We just dont understand it. To normal eye, picasso's "aficinado" is meaningless scribble. piet mondrian's compositions are just rectangles. But when you begin to understand what art is, you know what piet mondrian was trying to do with his rectangles. Beauty is historical, beauty is in the eye of the understood. You have a good eye, it just doesnt show here. Nope my tone is not belittling you. I admire your photography. it's a deviation from the ordinary. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1571748 http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1622091 Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted October 7, 2003 Hi Laura, I am not sure why, but somehow the darker foreground seems to distract and/or overwhelm the overall composition. Link to comment
sarah marie jones 0 Posted December 17, 2003 I didn't know Brooklyn could look this serene...what was behind you ?? :) Seriously, I like the feeling in the dark lower half...Somehow the darkness and dark hi-lights give the water a heavy visual liquidity. The dark sand rocks ! The birds and moon and the wisps of clouds are the lightness of being. A surprisingly existential feeling in a shot that wouldnt sound remarkable if described in words. Best regards, Sarah Link to comment
