landscapes San Francisco and Alcatraz (cubist)

This is one of my first forays into digital manipulation. The photo

is an arial view of Alcatraz and San Francisco downtown, but I wanted

to give it a softer, more abstract feeling. Ideas? Comments?

Techniques?

when it's blown up it just turns into mush to me.

Small it just looks unsharp. My personal opinion is that when an image includes details it's frustrating if I can't make them out.

I applaud your creativity in trying it. Maybe others will like it.

i guess its nice. this photo caught my eye since i recognized it as being of san francisco, despite the digital manipulation. i would like to see the original for comparison, from what i can tell this seems like a great shot of the city to begin with. the filter makes it impressionistic. i think it succeeds as an impressionistic piece because it gave me an "impression" of san francisco, without really being anything immeadiately or easily identifiable.

How can I see this picture.

It's very difficult.
