mihut_ionescu 0 Posted September 20, 2003 How can you post something like this? This is disgusting, it's morbid ... what's gonna be next? ... the picture of some dead people caught in a fatal car accident? ... entitled "My Last Ride"? Use that camera to make something beautiful ... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 20, 2003 .....Rats are making people ill!!! We have here in and arround our garden many many rats.If we dont kill them then WE are responsible for many problems with people. So., rats are dangerous! An we dont use poissening., it takes hours and hours before the rat dies. This ,,machine,, takes only a split second. Regards, Loft Portugal Link to comment
doeke 0 Posted September 21, 2003 Nothing wrong with this picture. Actually original! Macabre but still a good picture. Offcause; "where do we draw the line?". One thing, the rat/mouse should not have been killed just for the picture. I don't know if it was but that's my opinion. Link to comment
slonaker 0 Posted September 22, 2003 You rated one of my photos a 1/3 when it was averaging close to 6's and you post something like this??? Now (after looking through YOUR work) I can understand why you feel the need to trash other's. If you didn't like the photo, at least have the common courtesy to explain why. Link to comment
jean_schweitzer 0 Posted September 23, 2003 I agree a low rating should be accompagned of some explanations, I got also 2/2 without explanation from the same person for this one: http://www.photo.net/photodb/ratings_breakdown?photo_id=1764265 Jean Link to comment
jdsmall 0 Posted September 26, 2003 I found this photo to be quite disturbing. However, I also think it's a very worthwhile photo. At first, I noticed "cute mouse." Then I felt horrible for it--but affecting is good. Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted September 26, 2003 It's a dead mouse, that's certain. It's a shocker, that's for certain. It's a poorly executed photo, no question. Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted September 30, 2003 LOL. OK, so it's not a mouse, and it's not a mousse (that much I know). It's some sort of rodent (of course, I have 0 experience with rodents). Link to comment
bartbies 71 Posted October 4, 2003 are you a animals killer? :)fuuu but very good.Ananda(1/1) and other people appricate your photo must be for Greenpeace Link to comment
darren_conklin 0 Posted October 13, 2003 It's not anything I really want to see but you did do a very good job capturing it and we are suppose to vote aesthitically on how well it was captured and not on what we want to see. I went a 6-6 even though I don't like the content. Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted December 23, 2003 Sorry to say this (and to repeat a comment I have already posted for the other photo of the same subject), but I find this inappropriate and in bad taste. Death is always a tragic thing, even the death of a rat (or mouse - it doesn't matter), and should be shown only with respect and in the appropriate context. Here it is gratuitous and serves the sole purpose of shocking the viewer. No ratings, I do hope this image will be withdrawn. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 23, 2003 I respect your opinian but I think you are not realistic. If this picture should be removed.,you could also removed 33% of all other pictures here.... Think (agian)pls Link to comment
uhshopeonuhrope 0 Posted February 3, 2004 i'd kill a pesky little rodent to get a shot like this... nice work. very emotional, very good. sends a message. excellent Link to comment

jmcconnell2 0 Posted March 2, 2004 Good dof, good light, composition is balanced but not stiff, subject is ALMOST isolated from background, there are no distracting elements. This photo is well executed, almost classroom perfect. regards, -Jim Link to comment
rob_groot 0 Posted March 26, 2004 If we look at famous war photographers like James Nachtwey or even the great Robert Capa, we see lots of deaths, destruction and more disturbing realities of life (one of Capa's most famous shots actually depics a soldier in his moment of death). Making great compositions of dead people is of course only for the very talented. But for all of us the difference between blunt sensation and art is in the compassionate eye of the photographer. I find this shot rather moving, with the eye of the rat still focused on the cheese and the contrast between fur and steel. Well done! The rat is dead, that's just a fact of life, it probably didn't hurt (probably not as much as eating poison) and it certainly doesn't hurt the rat to be shot digitally :) Because of this picture this dead Portugese rat will at least be remembered (he liked cheese, more than life R.I.P). cheers, Rob Link to comment
