Not Here 93 Posted August 11, 2014 If you get any closer to this dove, you'll have to buy her dinner ;-). Well done, an excellent portrait.... Mike
LenMarriott 9 Posted August 11, 2014 Not as close as one might think. I slowly closed to about 10' to get this one & her partner sitting on my backyard fence. When I got inside their comfort zone they were gone. No apologies! Heavy crop helps. Thank goodness for excessive megapixels. Good to get your take on this one. Best, LM.
LenMarriott 9 Posted August 12, 2014 This composition is a heavy crop of the original frame. The sharpness, though still a far cry from Nikon's best lenses, speaks to the quality of the kit lens, 55-200mm. It satisfies my needs, for the present anyway. Thanks for your interest. Best, LM.
photo by patsy dunn 1 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi Len, Beautiful image with amazing colors & details. Excellent image!! Take care, Patsy
LenMarriott 9 Posted August 13, 2014 These birds have more colours & shades than is obvious at first glance. I don't think I've ever noticed the blue around the eye or the red in the beak until I started to blow up the image. Thanks for your thoughts. Best, LM.
Pierre Dumas 498 Posted August 14, 2014 Great beige color and fine green out of focus background, really something cute, Len! Best regards PDE
LenMarriott 9 Posted August 14, 2014 I didn't have to go far to get this shot. Two doves were sitting on my backyard fence & I simply kept shooting while approaching them until I got within their comfort zone. Thanks for your thoughts. Best, LM.
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 9, 2014 Your constructive comment\critique will be gratefully received. LM.
hstelljes 41 Posted September 9, 2014 Len this is a wonderful close-up and the clear details and colors the same. Well composed with blurred bg and I'd say the image is perfect.BR,Holger
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 9, 2014 This is the mate to my other offering which was sitting right next to it on the fence. Thanks for your always welcome visit & comments. Best, LM.
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 9, 2014 Thanks for your positive review. Coming from a photographer who not only talks the talk but apparently walks the walk I do appreciate it. From a quick cruise through your bird portfolio it appears that I can expect to learn a few things from you on the matter of bird photography. Very impressive! Be over to see you soon. Best, LM.
