These beautiful rainbow lorikeets were captured in a playful mood on

the breakfast table in an upbeat restaurant on a North Sydney Beach.

The birds were engaged in eating sugar from sachets kept in bottles on

the table. Comments & suggestions are solicited.

I can only imagine the "opportunities" these beautiful birds could provide in the wild.

One of the Zoo's I used to frequent here in the Midwestern U.S. has a very nice Lorikeet exhibit where one could enter and hand feed the birds. As I recall I think there were somewhere around 75 Lorikeets inside the Aviary.

I've often regretted not taking advantage of the opportunity with my camera but, to me, there's just something more attractive about photographing them when they're not in captivity.

Cheers & Regards always,

Jim j.

Jim - Thanks for reviewing. I agree with you that photographing free birds beyond captivity is both challenging and rewarding. I am glad that I succeeded in capturing this fascinating pose of rainbow lorikeets. I value your feedback. Warm regards.
