jim schwaiger 0 Posted September 19, 2003 There is a lot of imperfection here, but I really like this one for some reason. The full frame version is in the same folder in my portfolio. Link to comment
fred_j._lord 0 Posted September 19, 2003 I have to say that the relatively short depth of field doesn't bother me here because the colors are so perfect and the composition is so strong. Another dreamy, ethereal image to get lost in. Nice capture, Jim. Link to comment
michael_ward1 0 Posted September 19, 2003 I cannot say the shallow DOF does not bother me, 'cause it actually delights me. The interplay between the in-focus and out-of-focus greenery I just love; and the very strange left wing on the butterfly, which would ruin any other image, just fits in perfectly here. And, of course, the hint of decay in the rumpled petals - why, every photograph should have at least a little of that. Link to comment
jim schwaiger 0 Posted September 21, 2003 I don't know what the flower is here, but I can't remember seeing an orange & pink flower before. I also like the contrast between the bluish left wing and the natural looking underside of the right wing. Obviously a polarizer would have helped with that, but I don't think it detracts from the image in this case. Thanks again guys. Link to comment
