Great work with the macro lens.  This shows amazing detail and the b/g is pleasing.  The small bit of orange color on the insect's body is a good contrast.  I have viewed this a couple of times and still amazed at the insect's eye.  The macro view allows us to see things not seen with our naked eyes.  Bravo!

Hi Dave, As Bill stated the eye is amazing and you can see the curled up "tongue" under the eye to the right. You'll never get that with the naked eye either. Quite a good macro offering. Keep em' coming.

Hi Dave, this is amazing using a 300mm lens.  Was this your Sigma lens or a macro lens?  I can't get that detail using my 70-300mm lens.

Dave - I was using my canon 70 to 300 with an extension tube I borrowed from Joe. I now own a set of my own since I was happy with this set up.

I will try a little larger DOF in my next outing so the legs are in better focus.

Excellent - tack sharp with blurred DOF in just the right place.  Wing shots only, cropped to a square make wonderful abstracts - or as I like to call them, "natural abstracts."  Nice bokeh also.
